Giant Schnauzer Ear Care

Here are the supplies you will need to apply the splints to the puppy's ears:
*Skin Bond glue
*2 pieces of tape 6" to 8" long (to wrap around ears/splints)
*1 piece of tape 12" long (for the brace) Splints

Cropped and Clippered Ear

Brush Skin Bond glue on one side of the splint

Brush Skin Bond glue inside the ear all the way to the tip

Brush Skin Bond glue all the way to the tip of the ear

Put splint down in the ear canal as far as possible

Stretch ear up as you attach splint to inside of ear. This is very important to get the ear stretched up. Press ear firmly to splint.

Now you have both splints in ears. You're ready to finish up

Now you will take one of the 6" to 8" pieces of tape and starting from the top of the ear you will lightly wrap the tape in a downward spiral.

Now both ears are lightly wrapped with tape. Make sure you press the tape onto the ear by holding the ear/splint in your hand and making a fist. This sticks the tape to the ear without making it too tight.

Now you will take the 12" piece of tape and use this as your brace in between the 2 ears. Bring one end of the tape around the outside of one ear and overlap on the back side of the tape. You will be bringing it across to the other ear.

Bring the tape across the top of the head around the front of the opposite ear coming around to the back side of the ear/splint. Over lap that extra tape. Make sure that the ears are standing completely straight up....not leaning out or in.

Now....you're ears are all wrapped! They should look like this! And you can leave them up for 10 days to 2 weeks at a time (if they will let you !!!!!!!!!) Good luck and if you have any further questions, please call or email!
